A year in the life of a tree

November 30th, 2008 by Cat

This is really one of those posts that took one whole year to write. And to photograph. That is, it is about the four faces of a tree as it lives its life from spring till winter. I know it’s just a small part from the long lifespan that is given to trees… but sometimes you just don’t know what’s in store for them: just after completing my photos, one of them has been felled down for reasons unknown yet to the general public. I probably was lucky to document its last year of life. I’m not sure about its friends, but it kind of seemed to me that this past autumn their leaves looked more like red tears.

(The first row of photos is actually about two nice trees just below my 16th floor balcony, while in the second row you’ll find the one who’s now probably in the Tree Valhalla.)
